I am using Shipston Care now for about 6 months, 1x pw for 1hour in order to assist with a shower and aftercare. I could choose the day and time for this service to suit my needs and each week the carer is punctual, friendly and doesn't rush me, which is so vital for me. I cannot praise the professionalism of the carers enough - I had 3 different ladies so far on a few occasions but mainly the same, which makes me feel more safe. They are all very helpful and friendly and we always have a good laugh, which helps to ease any problems with body contact, as I was worried how I will feel if a stranger touches me fairly intimately. I shouldn't have worried - it is all done in a matter of fact that it feels totally normal. I really don't know why I've hesitated so long to get the help that I need and that makes such a difference to me.
Shipston Care looked after my 99 year old mum for several months last year until she sadly passed away in November. Quite honestly, I couldn't have coped without them. They attended to mum's every need with kindness, respect and dignity. They were always on time, always smiling, and had conversations with mum which lifted her spirits and boosted her mood. Every carer we had was attentive and professional, and if they completed their care of mum with a little time to spare, they found other jobs to do for her such as hoovering the carpet or drying the dishes. The carers became mum's friends, as well as my friends, and we still keep in touch. Shipston Care afforded me some respite, particularly during mum's final weeks and I shall be eternally grateful to them.
